Stephen Marley's
Mind Control
After a long wait for Stephen's Mind Control cd to hit shelves and finally getting to hear what his magnificent talent has to offer us, i'd say that it was truly worth the wait.
Mind Control has a great combination of irie dance vibes and good melodies mixed with a balance of rap and rasta vibes that is sure to make you move to each and every beat.
Stephen opens with Chase Dem, a groovy upbeat song that keeps you on your feet, then he slows it down a bit with Fed Up, a music drama, we've all been there, then Hey Baby which is very deep as he speaks of undying love , his struggle to be free from all those chains, it features Mos Def who tops it off with a little rap.
Stephen also shares his songs with two of his brothers Julian and Damian , theres never too many Marleys, the jams can only get better. The album also features Ben Harper in Inna Di Red, a real good song of Rasta, Love It! You'll find yourself singing this one all day, there are twelve songs on this cd and it also features Mr Cheeks, Spragga Benz, Maya Azucena & Illestr8. This album has good drum beats and even a little sound of the Blues, Steve even included the kids, and it sounds as though they had a good time making it.
An added bonus with Mind Control, are the videos, so just pop it into your computer or video player and enjoy. And yes, theres an interlude with Officer Jimmy, oh Ragga! I'll leave that one a secret.
I rate Mind Control four and a half stars out of five.
