Turbulence to release fifth album in May
Turbulence
With his latest hit single Notorious holding down the number four spot on the most recent B Mobile/Mega Jamz Reggae chart, sing-jay Turbulence is expected to release his fifth studio album Songs of Solomon during May.
"The album is a good one. It was produced by Fattis (Burrell) from Exterminator," Turbulence said.
Prior to the current chart success of Notorious (THC Muzik label), Turbulence, who has steadily built a good base in parts of Europe, hit the charts with Clear Off, a track from the 2001 rhythm Hard Drive.
"Seven years ago I hooked up with Fattis from the Exterminator label and I did a song for him. After that I used to go by Anchor studios on Thursdays to groom myself and to make use of any recording opportunities that might present themselves. It was at the studio that Sizzla asked me to come on tour with him as the opening act," Turbulence said.
Turbulence said that it was touring with Sizzla which prepared him for the success that he is currently enjoying.
"Yes it did. It also prepared me a whole lot on how to deal with people. Seeing how Sizzla performed and interacted with the people while on tour helped me in preparing myself for anything that I was to deal with career- wise," Turbulence said.
Once known as 'Double Trouble', Turbulence, whose real name is Sheldon Campbell made his recording debut in 1998 with the track Think of Peace.
"I used to call myself 'Double Trouble', but one night at a dance, someone told me that I was no trouble and that I was more of a turbulence and that's how the name stuck."
Turbulence is scheduled to accompany veteran deejay Tony Rebel and Queen Ifrika on a European jaunt next month.
Bruce Springsteen
"I am looking forward to the tour. Europe is a place where the music has a lot of influence and the message is continuously heard on a regular basis," he said.
