NEW CLOTHING LINE ROCKS OUT
The cult classic "Rockers" - a 1978 musical comedy filmed in Jamaica starring music greats Jacob Miller, Gregory Isaacs, Burning Spear and others - is the inspiration for a new clothing line that will debut in New York Tuesday.
Florida-based company Rockers Worldwide will launch its women's spring collection and preview its men's and women's fall collections at an invitation-only fashion showcase in Manhattan.
There will be a multimedia presentation - including deejays Jabba and Bobby Konders from Hot 97 FM - and live music performances.
The Rockers signature print collection - which features sexy "Dancehall Queen" mesh dresses, military jackets and other items for women and an assortment of men's wear, including military looks and retro-fit track suits - is inspired by the red, gold and green of Rastafarian culture and the colors of the Jamaican flag.
The collection will be on sale at such retail outlets as Mony, Jimmy Jazz and SND Underground.

Westchester Reggae Fest blows out seven candles
The annual Westchester Reggaefest 2004 concert will celebrate its seventh anniversary on June 13. Produced and hosted by Linkup Media (parent company of Linkup Radio 93.5FM and Plush TV NY), the event returns to the Westchester County Centre, located at 198 Central Avenue, White Plains, New York.
Billed as Lovers Rock Meets Dancehall, the evening will feature some of the hottest names in Jamaica's musical heritage from roots reggae to pop to lovers rock to dancehall, including the soulful voice of Beres Hammond who will perform songs from his 35-year roster.
Maxi Priest, Britain's best loved reggae artiste, and the Queen of Reggae Marcia Griffiths are also on the show. Rounding out the singers will be Richie Spice. Adding to this exciting line-up is Grammy winner and Dancehall Queen Lady Saw, who exploded in the early '90s with her raw rhymes and explicit stage presence.
"This is easily one of the most impressive line-up of talent ever assembled for an event in Westchester," boasted Annakie, CEO of Linkup Media. "Westchester is home to the fastest-growing concentration of Jamaicans in the United States. As such, I am expecting the full support of the community."

Busy weekend ahead for Ce'Cile
Ce'Cile, whose latest single, featuring Lady Saw on the Thrilla rhythm has been making its way up the charts, has a busy schedule ahead of her.
The singer/deejay jets off to Queens, New York, next week Friday where she will be performing at Club Tobago alongside Rex Foxx and others. The following night, she performs in Toronto, Canada, with Elephant Man, and on Sunday night (June 20) she performs at Jamaica Gold in California.
Ce'Cile recently returned from Canada where she performed with TOK at the after-party for the Montreal Reggae Festival. "It was a good show and we enjoyed ourselves. I still cannot believe that the place was sold out," Ce'Cile said on the weekend.
Mad Instrument Dance is Elephant Man's 5th number one in New York
Elephant Man's Mad Instrument Dance has become his 5th number one hit on the New York Reggae chart. The song, which was produced by Fire Links, is spending its third week at number one on that tally.
Elephant Man's trek on the New York Reggae chart began in 2000, when Truth Hurts peaked at number two. He scored his first number one hit on that tally in 2001 when Log On spent one week on top.
His other number one hits on that chart have included Elephant Message, and Bad Man a Bad Man. His massive hit Pon di River spent 12 weeks on top in 2003 and became the number one song for 2003 in the New York tri-state area.
