Capleton goes 'in har heart'
Fans may have to think hard to imagine Capleton racing across a wasted desert to hand a dying woman water, but the deejay does it in his latest music video.
On Tuesday, the directors of his most recent music video were busy on a dumped up section of Fort Augusta Prison property, shooting the 'desert scene' where the fireman will play out his heroic role. The music video is for the tune 'Baby I Love You', a song done in combination with 24-year old female singer Genie.
Director of Photography for the video Junior Beckford, told THE STAR that this latest Capleton video will not be the ordinary run of the mill one for them.
"This will be a different type of video from the main dancehall ones," he stated. "We have a story line we follow which is not the usual. Capleton plays a hero who helps a woman in distress way out in the desert She is on the verge of dying and he is the one to rescue her. While Photography Director is Beckford, the video's director is Oku Onura.
Celebratory mood
As their crew scrambled to match wits with a shifting wind and dwindling sunlight, King shango arrived like a true staar. His green Mercedez Benz laced with red and gold stripes led a procession on to the set which featured roughly four cars and two minibuses loaded with supporters. They slowly rolled in, bobbing their heads to the Capleton tunes which blasted from their car speakers.
It was his 'earthstrong' and Capleton was in real celebratory mood. He was celebrating his 37th birthday and was in a more relaxed mood than what the public usually sees. So mellow he was that in between puffs of his 'meditation' he exchanged a few words with THE STAR.
"You know right now we feel real good pon the earthstrong. We feel nice for this video, and a just more love and strength we a put out for this year," he beamed.
For 2004, he has so far made a video for his single 'In Her Heart', but hinted that we may just see his face again in a few more videos. These he added however are not yet ironed out.
Genie was also beaming at gerring the chance to perform alongside the magnetic Capleton. "For me it feels great," she admitted "It is a good feeling to work with him right noe." Genie also told THE STAR that she is scheduled to shoot another video in Canada with Beenie Man in May.
