Peter Tosh was born into this world without a father or mother with the responsibility, or the time to raise young Peter. His aunt raised him, although Peter's personality would have you believe that he raised himself. An extremely self-reliant, self-dependent entity, Tosh fought for those who could not fight themselves. He was a voice for those who had not the means, nor the ability to speak to a worldwide audience. While those with power on the island of Jamaica saw Peter as a threat to the existing regime (A regime comprised of corrupt 'politricksters' who ally with Jamaica's small, wealthy, land owning class), the people saw Peter as a rebel hero. A champion of human rights, throughout his life Peter fought against the vampires and the duppies and all evil spirits, the spirits, which Peter himself feared more than anything. Peter Tosh was a saint. Not a saint in the conventional, religious definition, but insofar as that he was put on this earth with a purpose. He was to expose the filth and corruption and expunge the wickedness of the ghosts, which haunted him his entire life. Peter was a savior, sent to liberate the people of Jamaica, both physically and mentally.

In 2001, several members of a San Diego Rasta community banded together to create Bloodfiyah Angels. Their goal was and is to use the vehicle of music to uplift the masses and to uphold the notions of international morality, and the preservation of life and family values. Through discipline and dedication, they formed a tight unit that earned the respect of San Diego musicians and live Reggae audiences.. Between 2001 and 2003, the band specialized in roots-based dub and developed a loyal fan base. A guest lead vocalist or a dub poet would occasionally accompany their dub music. During this time, the band members also, individually performed and recorded with such artists as Johnny Osborne, Mikey Dread, Errol Dunkley, foundation, Yami Bolo, Tippa Irie, Capleton, Anthony B, Luciano, Mighty Diamonds, Abyssinians and many more! In 2003 Bloodfiyah Angels met Kush, singer songwriter from Ivory Coast; who had recently moved to San Diego. Kush had already gain popularity in his homeland and performed extensively and was looking for the band that would help him spread his message throughout the world. From the first rehearsal, it became obvious that the singer and players of instruments had found the perfect match they had all been looking for. Since then, they have release a fast selling CD Countdown To The Holy Judgment recorded by legendary Jamaican producer Scientist, have been nominated for the San Diego music awards, and have performed at various festivals like the Island Fest in Michigan. Bloodfiyah Angels are Binghi James on percussion, Sir Isaac on Keyboard, JAH Oil on guitar, Sean Gibraltar on bass, Kush on vocals, Kahz on drums, and Shaga on percussion.
